PROSPEK - Unforgettable Experience

            At the end of my study in middle school, my class held an event. The event was a community service organized by all of the students in my class, it was named  
PROSPEK (Program Sepekan Pengabdian Ke masyarakat). We had to create the program, rundown, fundraise and control the whole event. It was held in Desa Pasirkihiyang, Garut.

      The program we did was health service such as free check up by doctors, health education for elementary school stdents and hose wives. We aslo held competitions for all people in the village, such as: panjat pinang, bakiak, balap karung, as well as adzan and singing competition. 
We also fundraise for donating daily needs package such as rice, cooking oil, sugar, instant noodles, etc. 
And we were teaching elementary school students too. And there were many other proframs in the event.
    


         Prior to the event, we had to prepare proposals for fundraising. It was difficult to find donations, so we asker for our parents' help. We also tried to find money by selling newspaper, old plastic bottle and snacks. We finally got the money after working so hard with our friends. Next we created the programs. Each committee planned their jobdesk. 

         

         I was in health program committee.
I managed the free check up and health education. We gave training about how to keep the environtment clean, how to brush teeth, how to wash hands. 

    
        

          It was an unforgottable experience for me because not all middle school graduates could experience managing community service and stay in remote area for a week helping another people to know better about health, to have fun with people there, and to share happiness. I also felt very gratefull for having classmate who are very solid and fun. There were only 61 of us, but we could create our own program.

Timun Mas - Summary

Summary
The story begins by the willings of an old widow who wanted have a child. She praye and a giant heard it. the giant have her magical cucumber seeds and said that she wpuld have a baby. in facet, the giant said that he would eat the child if it was a a girl. when the child, Timun Mas grew into a beautiful girl, the giant came to the widow's hut. however, the widow asked Timun Mas to run away before the giant arrived to their hut. The widow gave some magical stuff; cucumber seeds, needles and salt. Then the giant chased Timun Mas. When the giant almost catched her, Timun Mas threw the cucumber seeds and suddenly a wide cucumber seeds and suddenly a wide cucumber field appeared. The giant ate the cucumbers and forgot to chase Timun Mas. After eating the cucumbers, he remembered to chase Timun Mas. Timun Mas was almost catched again but she threwneedles behind and the bamboo forest appeared. It slowed down the giant's step. But the giant could pass it. Timun mas threw her last stuff, salt. Suddenly, a wide sea appeared and the giant sank into it. Timun Mas went home to meet her mother and then they lived happily everafter.

Moral
The above story shows us that bad intentions lead to misfortunes. The giant character conveys this message. Besides, Timun Mas holds that one must work hard and be fearless and optimistic to get through the obstacles and problems of life. Mbok Srini and Timun Mas need to take the risk and put aside their fear to free themselves from the giant.
